A Quick Trip to Seattle

I have been so bad about posting lately! We went out of town for a weekend, I came down with a nasty cold when we got home, and our internet went a little hay-wire. So with everything slowly returning to normal, I'm going to try to catch up!

I have lived in the Pacific Northwest since I was 3 years old, and I have never been to Seattle. Is that pathetic, or what? Recently, the daughter of my Dad's friend moved up to the Seattle area. She was hosting a birthday party for her son this month, so we decided to head up there and visit.

Hello there, Seattle!

I was so excited to finally see Seattle, and I made sure the rest of our group agreed to visit the market in Seattle. I was determined to get some photos there. Unfortunately, I was so excited, that I forgot to check the batteries in my camera! Ack! They were stone dead. And of course, they are some fancy type, so I couldn't buy them anywhere in the area. (Insert pouty face here). So the only photos I got, were taken with my camera phone. Sorry.

This alley leads to the famous Gum Wall. It's literally a wall, covered in chewed gum. Ew. I thought the alleyway was cool-looking though. Kind of like Diagon Alley, from Harry Potter.

I have no idea what this door leads to, but I love barn doors.
We stopped for lunch in this great little cafe. It was nice and clean, and the food was fantastic.

The drive wasn't too bad actually. Hubby drove for most of it, my brother rode shotgun, and I sat in the back with Jordyn. It was actually pretty fun back there. Mainly because her car seat makes a great pillow.

She only slept for a few minutes each way, but I managed to snag a picture.
We stopped at Cabela's on the way back. It's something we always do if we are in the area. Chris and I love this store. And of course I always need to get an elk burger from the restaurant before we leave!

She had a blast playing in this dog kennel haha.

Overall, a very fun trip. We are planning another trip, just the two of us. Maybe for our anniversary? He really wants to take the train up there for a night or two. Sounds fantastic to me!
